Office updates to ensure your health and safety

We have made several updates to our office and our protocols to ensure that the safety of both our patients and our team is held to the highest standard.

Our updates are in line with the direction provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Minister of Health, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

We have sourced and acquired the appropriate PPE for our team as well as for our patients who visit our office.  These changes to PPE requirements include a mask for all of those in the office (both staff and visitors), a face shield, eye protection, and a gown.

2. Screening

We have instituted a Wellness Screening procedure for all of those visiting our office, including staff and those escorting patients.

3. Infrastructural Changes

Long standing patients to our clinic may notice some of the infrastructural changes we have made.

We have installed a stronger HVAC system in all of our operatories to enable them to be negative pressure (more air leaves the room than enters).  This HVAC system works by turning over the air in each of the rooms 20x per hour.  This means completely fresh air every 3 minutes!

The air that passes through the new duct work then travels through four (4) HEPA filters, each of which are 99.97% effective at removing particles from the air.  It is then passed under UV lights in the duct work to kill any virus or bacteria that may be present.  Finally, the air travels through a plasma ion exchanger to mitigate any remaining danger before recycling back into the office for our next breath of fresh air!

4. Scheduling Appointments

We have updated our schedule to limit the number of patients in the office at any one time.  This is done to reduce/limit any direct contact among our patients and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
